We are in the process of creating Christian meditation sessions for those of you who enjoy listening to the Word of God in a relaxed setting. These meditation sessions are in progress and we will launch them soon. Please check back regularly.

You might be asking - what is Christian mediation? Simply put, it is the process of thinking about and reflecting on the Word of God. Of the numerous Bible dictionaries that can be consulted on the subject, a common theme is found, and that is that meditation is considered a devotional act, one of deep reflection. But many Christians shy away from meditation because they confuse it with Zen meditation, Transcendental meditation, Kundalini, and trance-based meditation practices. However, it's important to note that meditation can be found in the Bible and is entirely appropriate for the child of God. For example, Genesis 24:63 clearly states that Isaac went out into the field to meditate.

Genesis 24:63 (KJV 1900) - And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.

We also see in 1 Timothy 4:12-15, where Timothy was given specific instructions to meditate. The word as it's used here refers to weighing a matter, or to consider or ponder something.

1 Timothy 4:12-15 (KJV 1900) - Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Based on these Scriptures, there is clearly a place for meditation in the believer's life. But too many folks nowadays are too busy to stop and reflect on the Word of God. However, it is so important, because it produces spiritual benefits that go way beyond just relaxation. For example, let's look at what Joshua 1:8 says about meditation.

Joshua 1:8 (KJV 1900) - This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make they way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

So, we see from this verse of Scripture that good success if a byproduct of meditating on and doing the Word of God.

Let's look at another example.

Psalm 1:1-3 (KJV 1900) - Blessed is the man That walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree plated by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

These verses clearly indicate that meditating on God's Word releases blessings into the life of the meditator.

Let's look at some additional examples from Scripture.

Psalm 5:1 (KJV 1900) - Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.

Psalm 63:5-6 (KJV 1900) - My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, And meditate on thee in the night watches.

Psalm 77:12 (KJV 1900) - I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of they doings.

Psalm 119:15 (KJV 1900) - I will meditate in thy precepts, And have respect unto thy ways.

Psalm 119:48 (KJV 1900) - My hands also will lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; And I will meditate in thy statutes.

Psalm 143:5 (KJV 1900) - I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.

Here at Brain Boutique, we believe in the importance of meditation, because there is a clear Biblical basis for it, and because it produces health benefits as well. For example, it has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and anxiety, relieve feelings of depression, and much, much more. Some studies have even shown blood pressure improvements, relief from insomnia, and improved neural functioning. And to get these benefits, many practitioners agree that a simple twenty to thirty minute session is sufficient.

For these reasons, we have created a unique series of sessions that cater to busy lives. Our sessions will generally be between twenty to thirty minutes and will focus solely on the Word of God. We will offer a variety of soothing background relaxation sounds to help the listener to relax and enjoy the experience. The sessions will cover a wide range of topics such as love, forgiveness, the names of God, who we are in Christ, grief, depression, and more.

So, let's assume for a moment that you are struggling with forgiveness, which is quite common in today's culture. Our session on forgiveness will provide a discussion of what Scriptural forgiveness is, what it is not, as well as a list of verses upon which to meditate. And the grand finale is a prayer that you can pray about forgiveness. Our customers rave about these sessions and we hope you will too.

In addition to these sessions, we will entertain requests from our customers for custom sessions based on topics they choose. If you have one you'd like us to consider, please feel free to contact us by clicking on the Contact tab at the top of this page.
